Of all the races presented in the original Player’s Handbook of the 4th edition of Dungeons & Dragons, two races stood out as being new – dragonborn and tieflings. Both of these races had appeared in previous editions (dragonborn cropping up in the 3e book Races of the Dragon), but their 4th edition counterparts were significantly different, thematically at least. Bits of descriptive text dropped references to an ancient empire of Arkhosia, and the war with the tieflings that destroyed it, but the core flavor of the race was still not as defined as some would’ve liked. Dragon Magazine#365 tried to amend this with an article entitled ‘The Ecology of the Dragonborn,’ which has been expanded upon by the recent 32-page release, Player’s Handbook Races: Dragonborn. If you are playing a dragonborn character, wish to play one in the future, or are a DM who wants to know more about the core flavor of the race, this publication may be right up your alley…

One of the titles in the very loosely connected Soul Blazer series, Illusion of Gaia (or Illusion of Time in Europe) is an interesting fusion of action and story, fantasy and reality, and some truly mindboggling design decisions. Video games offer all sorts of experiences, some exciting, others intriguing. For whatever reason, the titles that focus on dogfighting tend to have their own brand of thrill – either due to immersion or the feel of blasting others out of the sky. The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces delivers this for the Wii, with a fun twist – the controls kind of emulate those of a fighter plane!
The interesting thing about the “linked” Avengers Siege titles (New Avengers, Dark Avengers, Mighty Avengers, etc.) is that instead of telling stories between the pages or issues of the main Siege mini-series as typical of the previous cross-overs, we are being shown what happened in the few hours right before Osbourne and H.A.M.M.E.R. attacked Asgard.
Sometimes when you get what you thought you wanted, you realize you might not have wanted it in the first place.

Imagine there are parallel worlds. Each time a decision is made, a new Earth is created. On one Earth, the Third Reich won World War Two. On another, life never crawled out of the sea. And on one world, everything is seems the same except the heroes we know (Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc.) are evil counterparts and the villains we know are the heroes.
