Do you remember what Booster Gold was like? A guy from the future that most of the heroes in the DC Universe thought of as a big joke. He was known for being a fame hungry superhero who sold his image for commercial endorsement. Then his best friend Ted Kord, known as the Blue Beetle died. In the series 52, Booster struggled to deal with his friend’s death and remake his image.
Now in his own series, Booster Gold serves as the greatest hero nobody knows about. He now protects time and space. And it isn’t easy. Luckily he has Rip Hunter to help through time and his trusty robot Skeets to give him history lessons. Unfortunately, he also has a nemesis in Black Beetle who seems intent on causing trouble for Booster.
In issue 25 Booster hopes to get a much needed break between missions, only to have Hunter insist he get some pictures of himself in the past trying to save Barbara Gordon from being shot. Only problem is, they are in the batcave. What Booster doesn’t expect in his mission is to encounter the all new and all attitude Robin. And where Robin is, the new Batman isn’t far behind. Luckily for Booster, Dick Grayson is more likely to listen to Booster than fight him. Meanwhile, Hunter and Skeets go in search of time anomalies and end up having an encounter with Black Beetle.
What you get out this issue is a touching story. For people that have been rooting for Booster Gold, you see him gain some credibility. I also like how Booster describes what he can and can’t do to history and how Booster has taken opportunities to explore time. This book may not give you the wacky Booster Gold you once knew, but you’ll definetly get one you can respect.

Nice review! I haven’t been following this series, but it has interested me. It’s probably something I’ll read in trades. I really liked Booster’s story in 52.
Is Dan Jurgens still writing this book?
