The Toybox: Ame-Comi Heroine Series Star Sapphire and Jade

First shown at the their booth at Toyfair 2010, DC Direct will release two Green Lantern related figures in their popular Ame-Comi series that will have your heart beating just a few beats quicker if not even faster.

DC Direct’s Ame-Comi series figure line features DC female characters styled in an Anime or Manga fashion. So far, only Batman has been done in the style so far on the hero. these figures really aren’t all that pose-able and are non-articulated. But they are highly stylized and incredibly detailed. In all actuality, they are more statutes than action figures.

First in this release is Green Lantern’s sometimes girl-friend, Carol Ferris as a Star Sapphire. DC Direct says, “This cosmic cutie glows with the Power of Love. In her trés chic and galactic metallic pink costume, the Queen of the Zamaronians rules with one look.” She stands approximately 9.75″ high x 6.75″ wide x 4.5″ deep.

Second is Jade which DC Direct describes as “Jade jams! With a groovy beat and far-out clothes, the daughter of Alan Scott charges the music with a little bit of Emerald Energy.”  The figure stands approximately 9.75″ high x 6.75″ wide x 4.5″ as well.

Both figures look impressive and should make a collector’s wish list with out any hesitation. They retail for $60 each and are due in your local comic book shop on October 27, 2010. These figures are made close to the ordered run so if you want one or both, make sure you get your order into your comic shop sooner than later.
