Gen Con Indy will take place in beautiful downtown Indianapolis, IN on Aug. 4 – 7. Check after the break to see more about this year’s convention and what you can expect from Fist Full of Comics and Games this year.
Over 30,000 gamers and gaming fans will invade Indianapolis to enjoy the best 4 days of gaming. The attendees from around the world will experience a massive exhibit floor, over 8,500 gaming events, celebrity appearances, anime and more. This is the 44th year for Gen Con. This year Gen Con will hold an expanded Electronic Gaming Area and Family Fun Pavilion, special guest appearances and many exciting events. Some of my favorite events of the con include the costume contest, the film festival, and overall environment of geekiness the fills the weekend.
I have been covering Gen Con on a limited basis since 2006. Each year I have spent more time at the convention. I live less than an hour from Indy so I usually travel back and forth. This year I have decided to immerse myself in the full experience. I will arrive on Wednesday and stay through Sunday. I will be posting daily with information and releases from the convention. I will also be recording several interviews over the course of the weekend that will be available for download. I hope to also be involved with other podcasters over the weekend.
