Followers of the Fist, As your man at the floor at San Diego Comic Con 2010, I did my best to grab document some of the sights of the floor for those poor fans stuck at home. The Rawhide Kid’s new miniseries, The Sensational Seven, has lots of gun fighting, heroic cowboys, sneaky villains, and a very sexy Annie Oakley. However, what makes this story different from other Westerns is that main hero of the story is more interested in helping [...] Guest Reviewer: Ed from Monarch Cards and Comics In Marvel’s continuing bid at world domination through market share, a brand new ‘adjective-less’ X-Men #1 hit the stands this week. Written by Victor Gischler (Deadpool, crime novel “The Deputy”) and penciled by Paco Medina (also Deadpool) pick up the ongoing X-Saga right on [...] For the upcoming reboot of the amazing Spider-Man, the role of Peter Parker/Spidey has been given to Andrew Garfield (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Doctor Who). The next as-yet untitled Spider-Man film will be directed by Marc Webb ([500] Days of Summer, The Office), scripted by James Vanderbilt (The Losers, Rundown), and is due out July [...] The dust has cleared after the end of Seige. The bad guys have been carted off. Every one gets a chance to take a breather. Thor, Iron Man and Steve Rogers take a moment to survey the devastation and wreckage. Both Iron Man and Steve Rogers offer their help and then promptly get into an [...] Secret War….Civil War….Secret Invasion….Dark Reign….Siege…. All these story lines have lead us to this point, the opening of The Heroic Age. Norman Osbourne has been taken out of the picture. It’s up to Steve Rogers (formally Captain America) to put things back together. The Avengers #1 replaces New Avengers and Mighty Avengers in Marvels lineup and re-installs [...] A first look at the new designs of the Captain America that Chris Evans will be wearing in the upcoming The First Avenger movie. The images are 3-D renderings of the designs and Chris Evan’s face. The design seems more inline with Cap’s outfit from the Marvel Ultimate line than the traditional Marvel 616 version. Much [...] Age of Heroes #1 Age of Heroes is a four issue mini-series taking a look at a handful of character’s each issue and seeing how The Heroic Age is effecting their corner of the Marvel Universe. Each issue will give us a brief glimpse at three to four heroes in four to six pages. Ed is back, at least bi-weekly (meaning every other week). This week he is joined in the shop by our Canadian friend, Mr. Trevor Chapman as will as the dynamic duo, Health and Andy. Topics for this week include: Siege Dark Avengers #16 This is the end. Marvel’s #1 selling book is closing out with a bang. After the events of Siege #4, this last issue of Dark Avengers shows us where each of Osbourne’s team ends up. This is the Zamboni that clears the path for The Heroic Age to start. Siege: Fallen Sun Siege has ended. The good guys won. So, we are left with clean up and putting things to rest. Here we deal with the heroes that knew The Sentry best “burying” him and giving him a proper eulogy. |
